Loading...In case you somehow don’t know, the Oscars were last night! Hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, the night went pretty predictably, with some awards given out and bad jokes told my many a presenter. In terms of performances, there was a pretty good opening number by NPH, and an… um… interesting performance of Everything Is Awesome from the Lego Movie, but the standout performance of the night was definitely John Legend and Common’s performance of Glory, from the movie Selma.
Documenting Martin Luther King Jr.’s journey from Selma to Montgomery to secure an equal rights voting act, Selma alone is a very emotional and serious film, and John Legend and Common’s riveting performance of Glory certainly reflected that. And then, just after, they won Best Original Song for their work. And I have to say, they definitely deserved it.
