Some of the best performances are some of the most unexpected. A talk about stuff that happens at 4 am doesn’t seem that interesting, but Rives, called the 2.0 Poet, makes it an interesting and captivating story.

Brilliantly performed, Rives weaves together an incredible story about things that happen at 4 am; deaths, births, comics, Bill Clinton quotes, whatever he could get his hands on. And somehow, the Four a.m. Mystery is a masterpiece of a TED talk. There isn’t much more I can say, as Rives explains it all in perfect detail in the talk, but I can say that whenever you hear the phrase “4 a.m.” after watching this, you will always be reminded of this talk.
