Although it isn’t what makes Youtube famous, as that’s more just cat videos, there is a pretty large subcategory of channels and videos that escape confinement in one certain category, such as “Gaming”, or “Science”. Vsauce3 is one such channel, part of the incredibly popular Vsauce family, consisting of Vsauce, run and hosted by Michael Stevens, Vsauce2, run and hosted by Kevin Leiber, and today’s featured channel, Vsauce3, run and hosted by Jake Roper. Many people might think that because it’s third in the Vsauce hierarchy, it would be the worst, but I disagree. And so, for this week’s featured channel, I will tell you why Vsauce3 is great, what makes it unique, and why you should watch it.

Being part of the Vsauce family, Vsauce3 adopts many of the stylistic aspects of Vsauce and Vsauce2, such as the font, the black background, and the style in general. But, more than any other Vsauce channel, Vsauce3 brings a stylistic and theatric element to some of their videos, which makes them stand out not only in the Vsauce family but also in all of Youtube. Not many channels can create such a good story in their videos, while also using creative and visually appealing film techniques, and yet still get the educational and interesting information across effectively and easily.

For instance, above is one of Vsauce3’s videos on time travel, and the theoretical paradoxes it creates. I love this video so much, because not only does it provide the viewer with interesting information, but it also if very entertaining and fun to watch:

Vsauce3 does many other videos such as that one, on topics usually relating to fictional worlds or concepts, such as ghosts, portals, superheroes, video game science and more. In these videos, Jake uses logic, science, philosophy to explain fictional topics such as Can You Genetically Enhance Yourself, 3 Pokemon That Could Kill You, Could You “Save” In Real Life, and more. All these videos are incredibly interesting and thought-provoking, but somehow, are only half of Vsauce3’s channel.

What’s the other half, you may be asking? Well, my good lady/sir, Vsauce3 also specializes in something that the Vsauce family pretty much has an Internet monopoly on: videos that list a bunch of things under a certain category. Vsauce3 and Vsauce2 both do these types of videos, but today I’m only going to highlight Vsauce3’s series, although Vsauce2’s series such as LÜT and Mind Blow are also awesome.

Here are some of Vsauce3’s “list series”:

Game LÜT

Game LÜT, a spin-off of Vsauce2’s LÜT, is an ongoing series of videos in which Jake tells us about a bunch of cool “loot” or products that have something to do with videos games. Whether it’s merchandise, prints, clothing or something else, gamers or just gaming fans will love to see this collection of awesome game-related merch that you can actually buy, if you would like, using the links in the description that is already provided for you!

App All Knight

Like Game LÜT, App All Knight is a show where Jake highlights the best things that you can get, except in this case, it’s apps. Every episode of App All Knight features any great apps, usually games, but also occasionally apps of any kind. If you’re looking to find a new great game or app, just go to App All Knight and watch as few episodes. I promise you’ll find at least one or two that you would want to download.

DONG

This is perhaps my favorite of Vsauce3’s list series, titled DONG as an acronym for “[Things You Can] Do Online Now, Guys”. In this series, Jake goes over, in the same style as the last two series, awesome websites and services you can Do Online Now, Guys. Basically, in this series, Jake highlights awesome things from around the Internet, and they always have you ending up wondering how the Internet got to be such an awesome place.

Overall, Vsauce3 is an awesome channel. Not only does it have interesting, thought-provoking and theatrical videos, which alone would be enough to create a popular channel, but Vsauce3 also brings their signature “list series” to the table. Fabulously hosted by Jake Roper, Vsauce3 is a great addition to the Vsauce family, and just because the channel is third in numerical order, doesn’t mean that it’s not any good. I hope I’ve proved that to you, and that you will now go and enjoy yourself more on a daily basis by watching plenty of Vsauce3 videos!
