Good animation, with a good storyline, is pretty rare on the Internet. In fact, these days, top-class animation comes pretty much only of the form of Pixar, Dreamworks, Disney and other big animation companies animating for blockbuster movies like Frozen, Penguins of Madagascar, and Despicable Me. Of course, there are exceptions, but most of the time a good, animation story only comes in the form of a full-length movie.
Today’s featured video is one of the exceptions. Not only does this short film have an amazing plot, with stunning graphics, but it was made for the Internet, with a relatively small team. The film, directed and written by Carlos Stevens, is about a man, coming home to the place he grew up. When he gets there, he learns that his father found a way to turn his most precious memories into gold. This emotional film is about the machine he made, and the letter he wrote to his son explaining the device. The video is appropriately called The Alchemists Letter, and I have to say, it is one of the most well done, visually appealing videos I’ve seen all year.
