Over the next couple days, the biggest gaming conference in the world is going on, called E3. E3 is where every big game developer releases and announces all of their new and upcoming games, and it is certainly a big couple of days for gamers all over the world. Many titles were announced today, but the highlight for many was the incredible augmented reality Minecraft demo earlier this morning.

The demo showed one player playing the regular tablet game, and the other wearing Microsoft’s Hololens, a pair of glasses that can add graphics that appear to interact with the environment around you. In the demo, the Hololens projected a 3D image of a Minecraft world through the glasses, and though the world isn’t really there, you can see it, interact with it, and play Minecraft through it. The game is totally responsive, allowing you to move the world around, showing different parts of the almost infinite world on the table, and perform a lot more amazing commands that make playing the game with a 3D render of your world so much more enjoyable. Overall, even non-Minecraft players have to be excited over this. It’s one of the first apparently fully developed augmented reality games, and it sure is exciting to see what developers will come up with next.
