Sometimes people, especially on the internet, complain about how computer graphics, or CG, is ruining movies these days. They site examples of terrible CG, and how if they had gone with practical effects, such as rather than using CG to create an explosion actually blowing something up, would make movies much better. Now, that all sounds well and good… but that still doesn’t mean that CG is terrible, and as it says in the title, CG doesn’t suck. Movies wouldn’t be half of what they are if not for CG and the incredibly talented people behind those effects.
The reason for that is we just don’t see most of the graphics added on in any given film. Most of the CG that is put in a video you don’t even notice. In this great video by RocketJump Film School, a new project by the amazing channel RocketJump, you’ll learn all about why CG is actually way more amazing than most people give it credit for.
