Because of the incredible amount of unrest in Syra, as I’m sure you’ve heard with the civil war going on, many Syrians are fleeing the country and taking refuge in nearby countries. This alone, hundreds of thousands of Syrians leaving the country, has caused a boatload of problems, many of them stemming from the inhumane ways the refugees are being treated.
In this great video by vlogbrothers, John Green explains the history of this crisis, where we are now, and how countries are trying to do deal with it. Not only does John give a statistical overview of the crisis, highlighting the 200,000 deaths, 7.6 internally displaced people and the 4 million refugees, but he also talks in an almost poetic way about the psychology behind the crisis. Altogether, the video is a fantastic way to learn about the important crisis, and John does a great job of making it captivating and interesting.
