Technology surrounds us in our everyday lives. From your computer at work to your personal smartphone, as it’s likely you have both, technology has quickly become something that we can’t live without. Not only is this tech a great way to dispense and take in online entertainment, technology like smartphones and laptops have created millions of jobs all over the world, and directly affected the world economy substantially. There is no doubt that iPhones and other such tech have launched us into a new age of information and entertainment. But to be honest, it’s hard to keep up with all the new additions to the product lines of your favorite tech company, or all the new technologies that pop up as the next big thing. Of course, if you’re the kind of person who couldn’t care less whether you use an iPhone 5, 5c, Nokia Lumia, Galaxy S6, or a Star Trek communicator, than this channel isn’t for you. But for everyone else, including his 2.7 million subscribers, Marques Brownlee is one of the best tech Youtubers out there.

Marques Brownlee, more commonly known as MKBHD, is a tech channel that does everything from explain tech, to reviews of products, to impressions of recently released devices. Marques does an amazing job making what can sometimes be complicated and confusing information about technology easy to understand. Marques started making videos back in 2008, and as I said, has grown a following of 2.7 million subscribers since. For tech lovers as myself and many more, Marques Brownlee’s channel is a great place to catch up on tech news, learn more about new products, and just be entertained by cool and new technology.

Because this site is dedicated to online video, and YouTube in particular, I thought I’d use on of Marques’ past Explained! videos, in which he talks about YouTube processing works and how I, in California, can create a video that someone in Singapore, Paris, or even the International Space Station could watch. As it turns out, there is a lot more going on behind the scenes than you might think when uploading a YouTube video. From the file size, to the pixel density, everything about a video uploaded to YouTube has to be taken into account to give the viewer the best viewing experience. (i.e., no buffering) You can watch the video above.

Whereas the video above is more focused on explaining interesting and relevant technology, another big part of Marques Brownlee’s channel is making review and impression videos. The difference is that reviews are when Marques has had time to use the device for a while, and impressions are when he has only gotten to handle a brand-new device right after its release. For instance, one of MKBHD’s most recent videos is an impression video on the new iPad Pro, a 12.9 inch iPad that was released last Wednesday at Apple’s September 9th event. In the video, Marques does a great job of talking about all of the iPad Pro’s new features, it’s specs, his opinion on it, and other insights that only someone very familiar with technology would think of. Overall, Marques Brownlee is one of the best tech Youtubers out there, and if you’re both a technology and a YouTube fan, there’s no way you can’t check out Marques’ channel. He does great reviews, insightful impressions, interesting explanations and altogether amazing technology videos.
