Everyone’s heard of Rube Goldberg machines; the chain reaction based machine that goes to incredible lengths to complete what is usually a pretty simple tasks. Obviously, these machines aren’t famous for their practicality but for their entertaining attributes. It’s fun to see a balloon scare a cat, which trips a wire, which lets a hammer fall, which hits a golf ball, etc, and eventually cracks an egg. So when Bob Partington, an inventor from New York City, was invited to do his one Field Day video, took up the offer and decided to make the world’s slowest Rube Goldberg machine.

Field Day is a YouTube channel that takes filmmakers, often YouTube creators, and allows them to make one video that has a larger budget, a bigger crew, and more resources. Essentially, a field day, as them name suggests, for filmmakers. So, when Bob Partington came up with the idea for the world’s slowest Rube Goldberg machine, Field Day went all out. From a miniature river of molasses to grass-powered conveyor belt, Bob’s Rube Goldberg machine turned out to be pretty dang cool and made for a fun and entertaining video.
