If you’ve been paying attention to the presidential race, you may have been hearing a little bit more about our sorta-friendly neighbors to the east: China. (well, neighbors if you don’t count the pacific ocean) China is a growing power in global politics, and as it should be too, since it has around 1/7th of all the people in the world. It has a large economy, a large population, and as you’ll learn in this video, large plans for it’s future.

The video, by The Daily Conversation, tells you all about China’s current major construction project, called Jing-Jin-Ji. Jing-Jin-Ji is a plan three of China’s large cities, Beijing, Tianjin, and Heibei. The three cities are fairly near each other, although not a commutable distance. China’s plan is to almost merge the three cities into a larger city, Jing-Jin-Ji, that would contain 130 million people, or 1/3 of the whole US population. Although they aren’t there yet, as is evident in the video, it is an interesting project, and will certainly be one to follow in the coming years.
