Back in 2013, Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield created and uploaded a video onto YouTube during his time on the ISS, or International Space Station. With over 28.2 million views at the time of writing, the video features Chris floating through the ISS performing David Bowie’s classic song “Space Oddity“. Not only is it simply awesome that an astronaut on the International Space Station can play the guitar and sing, but he is, in fact, pretty dang good at it. Chris’ voice fits very well with the song, and is altogether a great cover.

While the video is one of my favorite music videos on the platform as a whole, another reason is that the original artist, the legendary David Bowie, recently passed away. The whole Internet has rallied to remeber him, the recent surge in popularity of this video an example of that. Overall, Chris Hadfield’s rendition of the song is really great fun to listen to, and in light of recent events, a great tribute to the late David Bowie.
