There are many, many fantastic creators on YouTube. From comedy to educational to beauty to sports, there is a YouTube channel for you. I would know; after all, I subscribe to 94 great channels and have featured 35+ on this website already. The amount of high-quality content on the platform is actually pretty astonishing for most people, not to mention the amount of talented creators making that content. Yet what most people don’t realize is that making high-quality content is hard for most YouTubers. Ad revenue gets you pretty much nowhere unless you pull in hundreds of thousands of views per video, and even then many creators use platforms like Patreon to help subsidize their endeavors. Still, many creators have been able to find a way to make high-quality content on a low-budget, making it to the top using creativity, viral success, or a long-time buildup of subscribers and viewers.

I often wonder what these great creators would do with a Hollywood-sized budget, crew, and amount of resources, as they already make great content using the budget they have. So did the creators of the channel Field Day, apparently, as that’s exactly what the channel does. Field Day takes creators from every corner of YouTube and gives them the opportunity to make one “dream” video. Creators of the likes of Vsauce, the Slow Mo Guys, and more have all taken this opportunity to create some pretty great videos, one of which is the video above.

The video is the end result of Andrew Huang’s Field Day, titled “The World’s Quietest Song“. Made using hypersensitive microphones, Andrew and the Field Day team recorded a miscellaneous bunch of random, very quiet sounds, and then mixed them together into a quiet, dubstep-like song. The video is extremely well put together, as well as simply an interesting concept to start out with. On top of that, the song is actually pretty good, accompanied with very cool clips of the sonic subjects. While Andrew’s usual video (usually music-related) is of high-quality, his Field Day video is out of the park.

And that’s how it usually is with Field Day videos. When talented creators have more resources than they are used to at their disposal, it only makes sense that their creations would be fantastic. With over 130,000 subscribers and 27 million views, Field Day has gained some (well-deserved) attention for their great videos, and have continued to give creators their “field day”. Altogether, the channel is simply a good idea well-executed; giving the creators we already love lots of money and people to help them make their dream video come true.
