There are currently 7.125 billion people on the Earth and counting, every day that number increasing. 7 billion people is a lot of people; as we can see with the migrant crisis in Europe, we can barely handle the number of people we have now. And yet we are still growing, and it is estimated that by the end of the century the global population of us pesky humans will have reached a whopping 10 billion. That begs the question: can we sustain a population of that size, and what will be its effects on our precious planet?

In the great video above, made by Life Noggin, you’ll learn all about overpopulation, how humanity’s astronomical growth has affected our planet so far, and what the future may hold. As you may have guessed, it’s not promising, although we can still hold out hope that some miracle technology such as fast and cheap space travel might save our bacon in the meantime.
