As I’m sure you are well aware, there are many, many factors playing into the slow, yet in a relative scale lightning-fast degradation of the Earth: global warming, overpopulation, deforestation, mining for oil and other minerals, pollution – the list goes on and on. And yet our daily lives still go on, without directly recognizing these major problems we so desperately have to fix. As they should, although only the few among us choose to make it their daily life to fix and raise awareness about the problems listed above.

In the video above, rapper/spoken word poet Prince Ea talks about these problems in a hypothetical apology letter to future generations, taking responsibility for our collective inability to fix these problems before it was too late. The video is both a reality check and a call for action, showing us what may happen in the future as well as talking about ways to help create a future in which none of the scary things he raps about in the video come true. It’s a truly inspiring and incredibly well-made video, and hopefully spurs everyone who watches it to start doing their part to help save the environment from, well, ourselves.
