I’ve said this before, but it bears repeating as it’s very relevant to today’s featured video: high-quality animation is scarce on YouTube, and for good reason. Animation takes a very long time, usually requires expensive software, and is very labor intensive. Labor intensive content isn’t always rewarded on YouTube; after all, the videos are free for anyone to watch, and the ad revenue usually isn’t enough to sustain such high-quality content. But luckily for us, Draw With Jazza has already built up a large enough audience to take some time to produce a high-quality animated short, titled “The Tale Teller”, which he released earlier this week.
It’s an absolutely fantastic short, weaving together stunning animation with original music scores and wonderful narration to bring to life the story of, well, the Tale Teller himself. In less than 10 minutes, Jazza brings to life a more poignant and entertaining story than many animated movies made by large animation companies with hundreds of employees. The highlight of the video, of course, is Jazza’s amazing animation, and altogether it is easily one of my favorite videos of 2016 so far.
