If you’ve been watching the videos I’ve been featuring on this website for a while now, you’ll be aware of the game No Man’s Sky. I found out about the game almost two years ago now, and have been counting down the days until it’s release every since. Well, we’re almost there, only 5 more days until the public release of the game. With the release, the hype will only rise from here, and the video above is only one outlet of that hype.
In case you don’t know what it is, No Man’s Sky is essentially a playable simulated universe. The video above, made by PBS Idea Channel, talks about the game in much more detail, but that’s the gist of it. Another topic I’ve featured videos on is philosopher Nick Bostrom’s Simulation Argument, the idea (and subsequent argument attesting to the fact that) that we might living in a simulation. In the video above, Mike Rugnetta ties those two topics together, exploring the Simulation argument in insightful depth, using No Man’s Sky as an interesting case study.
