News stories about global warming melting ice sheets and glaciers in the north at record pace have been coming in waves over the last decade or so, each with more and more alarming results. And while the video/documentary above doesn’t specifically talk about the global warming aspect of what they call “the end of the arctic”, it does talk about one more local aspect of the end of the arctic.
Made by Mitchell Moffit and Gregory Brown, the creators behind the science educational channel AsapScience, the video above tells the ongoing story of the people of Clyde River’s struggle against the receding arctic and subsequent action by large oil companies. It’s a fascinating documentary, as Greg and Mitch themselves went to Baffin Island, Canada, where Clyde River is located to talk to locals and learn about the struggle firsthand. The video will tell you all about just one of the side effects of the melting ice caps, and may just convince you to try to help out with the cause yourself.
