It may seem far-fetched, but there are plenty of people who strongly believe it is true, and plenty who believe it is false. So, in one of the most epic Youtube collaborations of all time, Veritasium (Derek Muller) and Smarter Every Day (Destin Sandlin) come together to see if this myth holds any water. The answer, how they go about testing the theory, and why the answer is correct are all incredibly interesting, adding up to be two great science videos.
Two videos, you may be wondering? I only featured one, by Veritasium, above. But, what makes this collab so amazing, and as you’ll see if you watch two minutes of the video above, is that it is actually two separate videos, one on Destin’s channel, and one on Derek’s that are editing amazingly well so they are synchronized to tell one story. As long as they are synchronized down to the second, the two videos play seamlessly, and tell the great story of Derek in Australia and Destin in Alabama, both of them trying to figure out if the toilet swirling myth is true.
