Loading...Although there are many scary and also fascinating things out there, for me cults and bioterrorism are both two things that are up there on each list. Bioterrorism itself is incredibly creepy, as it is a form of weaponry that targets you for what makes you human; not just to put a bullet in you, but to kill you inside out. And when cults are doing this bioterrorism, well, we got a story on our hands people. And that’s the case for this great video by Atlas Obscura about the Rajneeshee Bioterror Attack.
Known as the biggest bioterror attack in U.S. history, the Rajneeshee Bioterror Attack started as just an innocent 70s religious/spiritual group started by a man called Bahgwan Shree Rajneesh. But, after the group gained around 10,000 followers and opened their own camp where thee followers lived and worked, their group started to stray out of the boundaries of just an ordinary spiritual group. For instance, in 1981, the group forcefully took over a local town and renamed it the city of Rajneesh. These kinds of acts eventually led up to their attack on a local city using bioterror techniques, leaving 751 sick, and luckily not as many dead. Told well by Atlas Obscura, the video is and interesting story and frankly just fascinating to watch.
