Loading...There have been so many zombie movies, TV shows and books, it’s become an incredibly overused creative trope. Zombies have used probably more than any other movie trope, that any new movie that has zombies as a main theme just gets a sigh and a shake of the head out of any viewer. These scary, undead creatures have captured the imaginations of people all over the world, but with all this use of the idea of zombies, the science behind them is sketchy at best.
Basically, no movies so far have explained how the zombie virus started, or what exactly the zombie virus is. In this great episode of PBS Space-Time, Gabe discusses the science behind how a virus could get so far ahead genetically from humans to be able to overcome our natural immune system. And, as it turns out, one way a super-virus could form is, unexpectedly, going in space.
