For as long as Polynesian spread from China out into the pacific islands, their culture has been pretty much completely isolated. This has let them grow some amazing traditions, some of which are brilliantly displayed here in Devinsupertramp’s newest video, World Of Polynesia.
Bringing his amazing aesthetic and film skill into this video, Devin shows many fascinating and amazing cultural traditions from the Pacific Island world, such as fire dancing, regular dancing, climbing trees, the Haka and more. Some of these dances are particularly amazing, such as some clips of memorizing fire baton dancing. This dance is a key part of culture, and although this video is primarily focused on the tourist side of the culture, it does display some interesting cultural development people from the islands grew.
But seriously, why couldn’t western civilization grow traditions of fire baton dancing! We would attract lot more tourists if we did, plus, it’s so dang cool.
