Have you ever been playing one of those classic arcade claw machine games, and been about to win a stuffed bear or whatever, and then the claw machine drops your prize? This often leaves you thinking the claw machine is rigged, and you’re not the only one. In fact, you’re right. In this great video by Vox, you will learn all about the inside secrets of the claw machines.

One of the incredibly devious yet not that surprising facts about some on-the-market claw machines is that in the owners manual, there is a calculation you can make, based off of the average prize cost and your preferred profit margin, to calculate out of how many games the claw will actually grab with full strength. That means, effectively, most of the players are getting cheated. And, when putting in reasonable values as Vox did in this video, it turns out that only 1 in every 21 games will get full strength. Those interesting facts and more are what you will learn in today’s featured video, It’s not you. Claw machines are rigged.
