In probably the most creative way to earn tips ever, a bass player and a violinist hit the streets of Brooklyn to entertain people in an age-old way: through music. But people do that all the time, so they decided to switch it up. Rather than choosing their own music and running it like a show, these musicians gave the choice to the watcher. By putting out tip jars with different labels on them, like “Michael Jackson”, “Bach” and “Fast Forward”, bystanders can put tips in the jars to control the musicians like human jukebox, as the title suggests.

And by the way, despite how easy the musicians make it look, constantly improvising on a whim is very hard to do on any instrument, let alone be controlled by someone who doesn’t know how hard it is. So first, hats off to the amazingĀ Charles Yang on violin and Michael Thurber on bass, and secondly hats off to whoever thought of that idea; it certainly made a lot of people’s day a little brighter.
