The Earth is huge. Unimaginably huge. I can’t even imagine what it would be like to travel across the whole world on foot, partly because that’s pretty much impossible, but also because, like many others, I stay and have stayed in a few little areas for my whole life. Aside from the occasional vacation, I don’t usually travel more than 2 counties in any direction at any given time. So when I try to imagine something as big as the earth… I just can’t. Now try to imagine something as big as the solar system, in which the Earth is a tiny miniscule speck. Obviously, that is something we as humans have a very hard time doing.

The video featured above tries to make that easier. It does this by documenting a bunch of guys’ journey to create a scale model of the solar system, one that bases the Earth’s size off of a marble. From there, through a bunch of math and planning, the guys create a stunning model of the solar system that really does show the massive empty space that takes up much of the universe.
