Cats, dogs, pigs, sheep, goats, cattle, and other domesticated animals (and planets) have been refined over generations and generations through selective breeding to be a better fit with humanity. Whether that means being more friendly or simply being bigger, we humans have had a major impact on the trajectories of many species of animals and plants. There’s a reason pugs exist; no, you won’t find a wild pug anywhere in the world – they exist because humans made them exist. (at least, we made them evolve from wolves over a relatively short time)

As a follow-up video to his previous one on the subject of domestication, CGP Grey tells us all about why certain animals and good (and bad) for domestication, explaining why exactly we ride horses and not zebras. Not only is the video very informative and interesting, but it is also surprisingly funny and entertaining, making me laugh almost as much as I learned about the history of domestication.
