Today is Super Tuesday, a day on which many states around the country hold their primaries or caucuses, voting for who they will give their delegates to for both party’s nominations for the general election. This means the election is in full swing, and if you haven’t already voted there’s a good chance you will soon. It’s always good to know your candidate’s opinions on certain topic, and today’s featured video will hopefully make you more informed on an important topic in this election: drugs, in particular the candidates’ opinion on the war on drug.

Currently, in the United States, the selling or possession of any kinds of drugs is illegal, and the punishment is severe, resulting in millions getting put in prisons for small drug-related offenses. This war on drugs was started back in the late 60s and early 70s by president Richard Nixon, and is still going on today. This video by Kurzgesagt talks about why, if you analyze the situation and look at all the negative and positive effects of the US’ war on drugs, it hasn’t worked out very well for anyone and how there is a better way to go about reducing drug-related problems.
