Loading...The Internet is full of wonderful hidden jewels, tucked away tidbits of interesting information waiting to be found. Whether it surfaces as a front page link of Reddit or a fact video by YouTubers like Matthew Santoro, these stories waiting for their time in the limelight are almost always fun and interesting. One such event, finding one of these tidbits, happened recently to John Green, novelist and half of vlogging duo vlogbrothers. As it happened, it was triggered by a game of soccer: AFC Wimbeldon and Hartlepool FC.
After watching the game, John did some research on the opposing team, Hartlepool FC, which is a 4th tier English soccer team from the small city of Hartlepool. During that research, he ran across the fascinating story of monkey hangers. I won’t spoil the details, but I can say it involved a legal trial, a French monkey, and Hartlepool FC. I know, an odd pairing, but it made for a great story, and John told it in a funny and interesting way as well, making for a great video.
