Over the last 10 years, YouTube has established themselves as the leading platform for online video. With the exception of Vimeo, there are no other large online video platforms, and even Vimeo doesn’t compare to the colossal empire of a free online platform that is YouTube. Luckily for both the viewers and the creators, so far Youtube has done a fairly good job of keeping the consumer and creator the highest priority, with content ID claims, free music libraries and more. But if you’ve been keeping an eye on the online video scene, you’ll know that Facebook has been making a big push for their native online video system, and apparently have been pretty successful at that.

Well, so they say. In today’s featured video by In A Nutshell (formerly Kurzgesagt), you’ll learn all about Facebook’s not-so-ethical practices they use to grow their video platform, and freebooting, when someone steals another creator’s video and calls it their own. Not only is the video is very interesting and informative for someone like myself, who is so invested in YouTube, it also spreads knowledge of what Facebook are doing, so hopefully something can be done to stop it.
