Science and technology, at its current rate (and consistent increasing of that rate) of development, seems to be able to make anything possible. Back in the Middle Ages, Leonardo Da Vinci dreamt of flying in a man-made flying machine. Done. The cure for many diseases, such measles and more? Done. The structure of DNA? Solved. A global, interconnected, open source of all of humanity’s knowledge? Easy. (actually very hard, but you get my point) Science and technology seem to be able to make whatever seems impossible in the current day true, given time. That’s what science fiction is for; imagining worlds in the future (or current day) where the limitation of current technology and science doesn’t apply, or is just modified to fit the story. But is there anything that evades the grasp of even science fiction, something so outlandish that no matter what we do we will never be able to achieve it?

Depressingly so, yes. In this thought-provoking and interesting video by Kurzgesagt, you’ll learn a lot about the structure of the universe, the history of the universe, where we lie on the vast map of the universe, and how the impossible thing that we can never achieve may be just exploring beyond our relatively small “local group” of galaxies.
