I rarely come across a musician or band that impresses me as much as the one I came across via today’s featured video has. NPR Music, a YouTube channel and part of NPR, runs a series called the Tiny Desk Concert Series, in which they have bands of all genres and sizes come play at a relatively small desk area for the people who work at NPR on their break. Each artist plays a couple songs, and the concert is recorded and uploaded to YouTube. The variety of music is what makes the concert series special, with big names like Adele and John Legend playing as well as smaller bands like the one above, St. Pete and The Broken Bones.

St. Pete and The Broken Bones is a soul band from Birmingham, Alabama, lead by singer Paul Janeway. Their music is a breath of fresh air, so much soul and energy in one voice and one band. Janeway gives an amazing and emotional performance, along with the rest of the band, showing why mini concerts like this one can be a great introduction to a lesser known band like St. Pete and The Broken Bones and make for an all-around great and entertaining video.
